Description
Blue Line Laminate Pouches and Rolls:
STERICLIN® laminate packaging made is made of 60 g/m² non-woven with sealed-laminated film.
Our system combines the sterilisation-technical advantages of flexible packaging (non-woven fabric) with the advantage of see-through packaging. High air and steam permeability permits the use of large and absorbent loads. Heavy instruments can also be safely packaged, due to the mechanical strength of the non-woven.
Indicators for STEAM and EO and sterilisation are printed outside the filling area. Stericlin® see-through packaging meets the requirements of DIN EN ISO 11607 and EN 868-5.
Instructions for use:
STERICLIN® Blue Line see-through non-woven pouches were designed to stand much higher stresses than normal pouches. Nevertheless, it is necessary to follow some essential rules by using this packaging material.
Filling:
STERICLIN® Blue Line see-through pouches should be filled only up to three quarter of their overall space. Sharp or pointed items should be protected separately to avoid damage to the pouch. An empty space of at least 5 cm from the seal area should be maintained to avoid stress on the seal. Avoid any kind of folding – this potentially weakens the laminate material!
Bowl type medical devices should be packed with the hollow side to the non-woven side of the pouch to ensure the best possible steam penetration.
Sealing:
For see-through pouches, continuous sealing devices are most suitable. The sealing temperature should be in the range of 175°-200°C.
Place inside the sterilization basket:
Smaller packs should be placed in a container (e.g. sterilization basket) so that they support one another. Place the pouches film-to-film and non-woven to non-woven. Larger packs must be laid with the non-woven on the downside. This eases steam penetration and drying. Always take heed of the Sterilizers manufacturer’s instructions for use, correspondingly use validated configurations.
After sterilization:
Check the change of colour of the indicator after the sterilization process and look for any kind of damage on the package. If the packs are still wet 30 minutes after the sterilization process they are not storable and must be newly packed.
Open:
To maintain an easy opening of the pouch with a heavy load there are specially marked and shaped seals on both edges of the pouch. Lay down the pouch for the opening procedure on a table, open the sealed edges – these prevent dust sedimentation – and peel apart the film and the non-woven.
Storage:
Store the pouches away from dampness, soiling, vermin, mechanical strains, extreme temperatures and ultraviolet rays. Store separately from un-sterile Goods. Refer to Australian Standards and DIN 58953 part 7 and other norms for storage conditions.
